BC Amateur Sport Fund
in support of:
Nanaimo Rowing Club’s Equipment Acquisition Drive

Established in 1992, the Nanaimo Rowing Club is based on Long Lake and offers programs recreational and competitive programs for Juniors (ages 12-18), Seniors (19-27), and Masters (27 ) year-round.  The Club’s Equipment Acquisition Drive project raises funds for the Club to purchase new or lightly used rowing shells and accessories.  Funding equipment purchases helps keep program costs more affordable and helps the Club expand its program offerings.  Many of the Club’s junior program members have gone on to compete nationally and internationally and being able to train with higher caliber equipment helps the Club train a new generation of successful amateur athletes.

Administered by Sport BC, the BC Amateur Sport Fund ("BCASF") is the BC chapter of the Canadian Council of Provincial & Territorial Sport Federations ("CCPTSF"), a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association with charitable status (CRA number 88938 6868 RR0001).  The CCPTSF was established in 1980 to benefit amateur sport across Canada by supporting projects like this.  The BCASF was previously known as the “National Sport Trust Fund”, or “NSTF”.  The Fund changed its name in August 2019 to more accurately reflect its fundraising and granting activities.

* I represent and warrant that I am voluntarily and unconditionally giving this gift to the BC Amateur Sport Fund (BCASF), the BC chapter of the Canadian Council of Provincial & Territorial Sport Federations Inc. (CCPTSF) to benefit the development of amateur sport in Canada on a nation-wide basis. I understand that the BCASF can direct my donation to an amateur sport cause of its choice, however my preference is that my gift be used to support the project selected above. Consistent with Canada Revenue Agency’s interpretations of “qualifying donations”, I confirm that no material benefit will accrue to me or related parties as a result of this donation and that this gift does not or will not reduce any obligation, directly or indirectly, that I or related parties have for “non qualifying” expenses such as membership dues, training, or program registration fees, travel costs or other like expenses that I or related parties would normally be required to pay. I also understand that civil penalties can be imposed against me for the misrepresentations of tax matters. Based on these facts, I understand that an official receipt for tax purposes will be issued in respect of this gift.
